Ateno is located in a neoclassical building from 1831 on Odos Aiolou, in the center of Athens. This particular space is ideal for what we wanted Ateno to be, a restaurant where we rethink Greek cuisine and cook it with a modern eye.

First we are friends and then partners or associates. Ateno is the result of an idea that had Nikos Karathanos, chef of Ateno, Spyros and Vangelis Liakos, entrepreneurs who have changed the facts in catering with restaurants such as Basegrill, and Kostas Tranoulidis also with many years of experience in space. Ateno’s close team is complemented by our associates who make a difference with their smile and professionalism.

For Ateno we aim to be much more than a restaurant. We want it to be a new culinary destination in the city center. In the beautifully renovated neoclassical building at number 52 on Aiolou Street, we serve a modern, well-prepared Greek cuisine by award-winning chef Nikos Karathanos. You can accompany your food by choosing between 150 wine labels from the Greek vineyard – in an impressive wine list curated by Yiannis Karakasis. Ateno also operates a very up-to-date deli, with everything a chef would choose for his kitchen.
